That’s a good sign for how worthwhile a visit actually is, not a knock against it. Availability and policies vary farm to farm and change over time, so this isn’t a walk-up situation. Check directly with individual farms before building a day around visiting one. If your travel companions are the type who’d rather see a horse in person than spend another day at a park, this is the part of the region built for exactly that.

The Ocala National Forest

For travelers who want more nature and fewer built attractions, the Ocala National Forest spans over 600 square miles, with more than 600 lakes, rivers, and springs scattered through pine and subtropical vegetation. The standout feature is the springs themselves. Juniper Springs, Alexander Springs, and Salt Springs all maintain a constant temperature around 72°F year-round, which means they’re swimmable well outside of peak summer, when a lot of Florida water activities lose their appeal.

Beyond swimming, the forest supports hiking, canoeing, and general day-trip exploring for travelers who want to get out of the RV and actually be outside for a stretch.
