That matters more than it sounds like it should. A lot of RV resorts in this part of Florida are built around one kind of guest — golf-course luxury travelers, or 55+ communities that don’t really want a 7-year-old cannonballing into the pool at 4pm. Ocala Sun isn’t either of those. Why Families End Up Here Instead of Somewhere Else

The “all-ages” label does a lot of work. Southern Springs RV Resort, one of the other well-known names in the Ocala market, is age-restricted 55+ — so if you’re traveling with kids, that option is off the table before you even look at amenities. On the other end, Sun Retreats Orange Lake and the World Equestrian Center RV Park lean into a golf-and-equestrian luxury experience, which is a fine trip if that’s what you’re after, but it’s a different price point and a different vibe than a family weekend usually calls for.

Ocala Sun sits in the middle, on purpose. What There Is to Do With Kids On-Site

• Heated pool. Usable well outside of peak summer, and genuinely nice on a cooler evening. Kids under 18 need adult supervision in the pool area — a rule that’s there so the pool stays a place you can actually relax, not a hazard you’re managing.

• Gated dog park. If the family dog rode along, this is fenced, off-leash space to burn energy without a leash — worth a lot after a few hours in the rig.

• Clubhouse with billiards. Somewhere other than the RV to sit when the weather doesn’t cooperate.

• Walking trails nearby. For the after-dinner walk that gets everyone out of the rig before bedtime.

• Quiet hours, 10pm to 8am. Not exciting, but if you’ve ever tried to get kids to sleep at a campground with a party three sites down, you know why this is worth mentioning.
